MPS streamlines registration process

Montgomery Public Schools is changing its registration process for students who are entering a traditional middle or high school for the 2013-2014 school year and need to pre-register, according to an MPS news release.

“We hope this will help parents who have students in both middle and high schools and may be entering the system for the first time or moving to a new attendance zone,” Superintendent Barbara Thompson stated in the release. “This simplified process should save time and help ensure students are attending their zoned school.”

Parents will register students at one of five sites. Southlawn Middle and Carver High students will register at Carver High. Bellingrath Middle and Lanier High students will register at Lanier. Brewbaker Middle, McKee Middle and Jefferson Davis High students will register at Jeff Davis. Capitol Heights Middle, Goodwyn Middle and Lee High students will register at Lee. Dunbar-Ramer (6-8 grades), Georgia Washington Middle and Carr Middle students will register at Carr, the release states.

Students already enrolled in their school or who are moving up a grade level within their zone don’t need to pre-register.

Registration will be from 7:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Monday through July 25.
